Why forgive? He forgave us even if we’re not sorry, and loved us even if we don’t love him back. Forgiveness isn’t obligatory anymore, when Paul said, “Forgive as the Lord forgave you”, he wanted us to dig into why God forgave us. He loves us. And God wants us to always remember that, so that in everything we do, we could do it with love. He doesn’t want us to just imitate Him. He doesn’t expect us to love and forgive people who wronged us because it’s obviously hard for us, only He can really do that. All He wants is for us to experience and remain in His love and that may His love be the reason as to how we can love and forgive. So why forgive?
